Our 2021 Travels

Well in March 2021 we thought we were free from the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks were off, people were tired of being holed up in there houses, and money was piling up in the mattress.

Each year for a couple years pre-pandemic, the Bowles and Handley herds headed to Yosemite to celebrate Mother’s Day. This year we were itching to go. Unfortunately Tom and Joan Bowles are no longer with us to join us.

But we were able to get the Antonville’s (David, Nicole, Dylan and Bryce), the Handley’s (Curtis, Lauren, Parker and Callaway), the Weaver’s (Evan and Juan) and the Lewis’s (Barry and Leslie) to gather and share.

We had great weather, plenty of opportunities to explore, and enjoy. We stayed in at the Curry Village heated tent campground, with all sites within sight distance. Here’s a video from that trip.

Each year we try to visit some place to celebrate my birthday. Once again we headed to NYC, for no other reason than it’s such a vibrant and exotic city. We spent four days in Brooklyn, taking the subway, went to Mets game, met up with a distant cousins again, and went to a bunch of cool rooftop bars. Weather was hot and humid (as expected), food tasty, and just an all around great time. Here’s a couple videos from our stay.

And at the end of the year we decided to celebrate National Native American Heritage month by visit tribal lands in both Arizona and New Mexico. Locations included Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelley, National Monument. We also visited cities like Santa Fe, Toas, and Aztec.

We traveled 2,900 miles, took 10 days, and had amazing weather. Here’s pictures and videos.
